// WHICH BIFOCAL IS YOURS?

Top, bottom, or full magnifier.

The magnifier's position changes everything. Pick by where your eyes need the reading power.

Look up to aim

Top Bifocal

Magnifier segment up top. When you raise a rifle or shotgun your eyes look upward through the lens — so your sights land right in the magnified zone, no head tilt. The shooter's choice.

Desk & bench

Bottom Bifocal

Magnifier segment at the bottom — the classic reading position. Ideal for the workbench, reading range cards, checking a phone or gauge while distance vision stays clear up top.

Sustained close work

Full Magnifier

Magnification across the entire lens (MAGshot, Mag-Safe) — no segment, no line. Best for extended close-up tasks like fine assembly, detail work, or reading fine print for long stretches.

Questions, answered.

What's the difference between top bifocal and bottom bifocal safety glasses?+
A bottom bifocal places the magnified zone at the bottom of the lens — ideal for reading at a desk or workbench. A top bifocal places the magnified zone at the top, which we recommend for hunters and shooters. When you raise a rifle or shotgun, your eyes naturally look upward through the lens, putting your line of sight directly through the top magnifier — keeping your eye aligned with your sights without tilting your head.
Are bifocal safety glasses ANSI Z87.1+ and OSHA compliant?+
Yes. All Spits Eyewear bifocal safety glasses are ANSI Z87.1+ certified and OSHA compliant, meeting or exceeding current impact-protection standards for workplace and sporting use. Approved for job sites and the range.
What magnification strengths are available?+
Availability varies by model. Most Spits bifocal safety glasses come in +1.00, +1.50, +2.00, +2.50, and +3.00. Some models like the C2 extend up to +4.00. Unsure of your strength? Start with the magnification you use for reading glasses.
What's the difference between bifocal and full magnifying safety glasses?+
Bifocal glasses have a small magnification segment (top or bottom) with standard vision elsewhere — good for mixing distance and close-up. Full magnifying glasses like the MAGshot magnify the entire lens, better for sustained close-up work like reading fine print or detailed assembly.
How are bifocal safety glasses different from regular reading glasses?+
Regular reading glasses aren't impact rated and offer no eye protection. Spits bifocal safety glasses combine ANSI Z87.1+ certified impact protection with built-in magnification — both in one pair, no compromise on safety compliance.
Can I get bifocal safety glasses with interchangeable lenses?+
Yes — several models including the C2 and MAGshot offer interchangeable lens kits. Clear lenses for indoor or low light, smoke for bright sun, and yellow for overcast or dawn/dusk conditions.
