Frequently asked questions
What makes Flare goggles suitable for skydiving?
The Flare series uses advanced system venting with a vented upper frame and vented EVA foam padding to manage airflow at terminal velocity. This prevents fogging and pressure buildup during freefall while maintaining a secure seal around the eye socket.
What is the difference between the Flare II, III, IV, and V?
All four share the same advanced venting system. The Flare II is the original proven design. The Flare III offers enhanced optics. The Flare IV has a refined low-profile frame for a cleaner look. The Flare V is the smallest and most compact -- ideal for jumpers who prefer minimal drag and a streamlined profile.
Will these goggles fog up during freefall?
The Flare series is specifically engineered to resist fogging through its advanced system venting. The vented upper frame and foam padding allow air to circulate and prevent moisture buildup during the rapid temperature and pressure changes of freefall and canopy flight.
Can I wear Flare goggles over prescription glasses?
The Flare goggles are not designed as OTG (over-the-glasses) frames. If you need eyewear that fits over prescription glasses, check out our Tach-1 OTG goggles.
Do Flare goggles provide UV protection?
Yes. All Flare goggles provide UV protection -- important at altitude where UV exposure increases significantly with elevation.
Are these goggles suitable for other wind sports?
Absolutely. The Flare series works well for BASE jumping, paragliding, hang gliding, and other high-speed wind sports where a secure seal and anti-fog performance are critical.
