Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between full-lens and bifocal magnifying safety glasses?
Full-lens magnifiers have the entire lens ground to your magnification strength so every part of your visual field is in focus. Bifocal magnifiers have a small reading insert at the bottom. Full-lens is better for detailed close work; bifocal is better if you need to switch between near and distance vision frequently.
What magnification strengths are available?
Medium and large frames are available in +1.25, +1.50, +1.75, +2.00, +2.25, +2.50, and +3.00. The small frame is available in +1.50, +2.00, and +2.50. If you are unsure which strength you need, start with your current reading glasses prescription as a guide.
Which frame size should I choose?
Mag-Safe comes in three frame sizes -- small, medium, and large. Small fits narrow faces and youth. Medium fits most adults. Large is designed for wide faces and can be worn over prescription glasses.
Are Mag-Safe glasses ANSI certified?
Yes. All Mag-Safe magnifying safety glasses are ANSI Z87.1+ rated for high-impact protection, making them suitable for workplace, range, and field use.
Can I use these for shooting or hunting?
Absolutely. The wraparound fit and ANSI Z87.1+ rating make them well-suited for range use. Full-lens magnification is particularly useful for reading targets, scope adjustments, and fine detail at close range.
What is the difference between the full lens and bifocal models?
The full lens model magnifies the entire lens for complete field-of-view clarity. The bifocal model has a standard upper lens with a magnified reading segment at the bottom -- ideal if you need to switch between near and distance vision without removing your glasses.
